PERSONAL INFORMATION

Appearance:
Standing at five feet and four inches with an average build, the thing that most people first note about the girl is her expression. Her lips that are seemingly in a perpetual smile framed by her unruly black hair, there is typically a casual atmosphere around her. When not on missions, Ekaterina prefers cloths that are both light and loose. Typically simple long-sleeved shirts and shorts in the more muted pastel colors, a thin sweater is often thrown over at night or colder days. Oddly enough, she rarely parts with her combat boots. She rarely wears anything that would expose too much of her skin, given the many scars mark the entirety of her body - there's also the grand nature of the relic she was blessed with.
Personality:
At first glance, Ekaterina would easily pass of as an average teenage girl. The only thing that would have distanced her from the text-book definitions was her rather boyish behavior, including a love of video games. Honest, friendly and approachable with an expression seemingly locked in a smile, Kat could be described as the timid girl next door - her interest in machinery and the occasional outburst of curses often delivered electronically not withstanding. Unfamiliar social situations tend to leave her in an awkward silence, but she does not shy from attention and would happily chat with acquaintances for hours on end without bringing religion into the picture - though the latter is mostly thanks to low self-esteem rather than any lack of faith. She does have a stubborn side, and her normally polite tone of voice makes way for an uncharacteristic sharpness when she needs to get her point across.
Strangers may find her to be gullible, but only because her view of the world has been skewed by her experiences. Unable to cope with with what she has seen and done in the past, Kat has abandoned the concept of morality altogether, delegating the role of her conscience to her superiors. As such, she can maintain her typical attitude no matter the situation, which is often misunderstood as being absent-minded.
In regards to her role as an inquisitor, her obedience is so absolute that she would kill her closest friends with her bare hands and sincerely mourn their passing the moment the task was deemed to be complete. While the girl does occasionally question her actions, she is no longer able to find fault in her orders, and worries rather about any flaws in her own interpretation execution instead. However, her views on mystic kind conflict with what is defined by her order, and does not automatically treat them with hostility.
History:
It wouldn't be inaccurate to say that Ekaterina was raised in a mountain cabin, as her family lived in a sparsely populated province in the Urals. Rather, the girl and her father did, as her mother practically lived overseas because of work. Kat never really found out what her mother did, as her parents seemed to be rather secretive about the topic and she never truly pushed for an answer - not willing to waste their time together with unimportant questions. Though later, she would start to worry, that it may have been more dangerous that they let her know.
In either case, her father his best with raising a daughter by himself, often quoting that she reminded him too much of his wife to do otherwise. Of course, it was rather awkward at times, leading to some of the girl's rather boyish tendencies. Neither of them complained, and very few ever pointed out the fact, as there were only a handful of children in the small mountain town. On the contrary, Ekaterina was the only one who really bothered with domestic tasks - aside from the clergy running the local mission. Few of the miners were particularly interested in religion, the impromptu education they offered the children was universally appreciated. Her father on the other hand was a fervent believer, and the girl followed suit; if only to emulate his example at first. Often staying at school late to study scripture, the girl's faith grew strong and was further nurtured by the missionaries. However, one winter, her faith was tested. She was only eleven at the time.
Weeks before the fateful night, a stranger had started living in the mission - apparently a priest who had some business in the area. Though his face seemed to be eternally locked in a scowl, the man was kind enough to spend some time playing with the children, and was in welcomed by the locals. They had no idea what kind of danger his presence represented. The preacher himself was a faithful servant of the Lord, and devoted to rooting out the kind of heresy that would stain the name of the Church. News of radicals that were doing just that had brought him to the quaint mining town. Unfortunately, he had become too adept at chasing his quarry that the inquisitor had outpaced them, and the heretics descended on the town only hours after he had left. They accused a local man of being a werewolf, and the heretic that led them had deemed that the entire town was to be purged.
Only Ekaterina and another child survived, spared by the noble sacrifice of her father. However, there was no way for two children to survive the fury of a Russian winter out in the mountains, but by some miracle they stumbled onto the inquisitor whose car had stalled on the road. He was enraged at his own failings, and cared for the young survivors. Partly to serve penance, but also because he suspected that the girl who managed to carry someone on her back in spite of her own injuries was destined for something else. He was proved right, several years after.
Once again, he caught wind of the heretic that had eluded him while he was visiting his wards, but this time they were ready for him. There was no way for him to break through by himself, and there was no time to wait for reinforcements. He hesitated, loath to lead innocents into his chosen path, but letting this heretic escape once more was unthinkable. Deciding that Ekaterina had a better chance of success, after seeing her determination years ago, he gave the girl a knife and shared his plan - all she had to do was crawl through the ventilation and open an unguarded window. The girl was only too eager to help. She succeeded, and the inquisitor ordered her back into the ducts as he "preached" the true faith to the heretics.
Most of his quarry fell before his righteous fury, but those around their false-saint were entrenched on the second floor. Without warning, there was a sudden lull in the gunfire, and he used the moment to rush through their defenses. It wasn't until he reached the final room did her find out the reason. Young Kat had descended upon the heretic leader from above and repeatedly plunged a knife into his back, driving his minions into a panic. With a wry smile on his lips, he led the girl outside and started grooming her to follow his footsteps - he saw her eyes and knew that there was no other way. Since then, she supported the old priest in weeding out heresy from within the faithful. Eventually, she officially entered the Judas' Order, though she never left her old mentor's side.
Under his wing, her service was such that she was found worthy of becoming an apostle. However, she was an apostle only in name, as she had slowly changed since her first mission - she never showed the same kind of initiative, barely making any decisions without consulting her mentor. She seemed to take her new role rather well, aside from the hauntingly casual expression on her face while on duty, but the inquisition is not free of politics. Eventually, the inquisitor that had adopted her stepped on the toes of another. He met with an unfortunately accident at a safe house one day. While a tactless schemer would have taken care of the girl as well, they merely fed her with an altered version of the story - one that painted her mentor in a heretical light - seemingly buying her devotion. For Kat, the orders came from a different mouth, but her goals remained the same.
Ekaterina was never the most skilled agent, but she was the perfect for delivering a message. Few expect such brutality to come from a girl her age, and even less expect her to take punishment that would stun a full grown man. Many who sought to use her often become her victims as well, as her loyalty was only to the church in its entirety, but there was never a short supply of fools who thought they were better than the rest. Still, her infamy had become dangerous of late, and her superiors had decided it best to let them die before employing her once more.

LOADOUT
Holy Relic
Name: Torch of the Milvian
Rank: D
Relic Appearance: A bardiche composed of a four-foot long pole and a two-foot long blade, bringing its full length to five feet. There are two strips of an intricate ornamental pattern carved through the length of the shaft. The blade is simple, seemingly made of ancient tool iron and has such an extreme arc that the entire relic resembles the letter "P".
Tattoo Appearance: A winged figure holding a glowing chi-rho in both hands above its head in mosaic style that covers her entire back. Just above the figure, the phrase "in hoc signo vinces" is written on a flowing scroll.
Description: Said to contain iron from the loose pin that send the Milvian Bridge bridge and the pagan Maxentius into the river Tiber. Theoretically, a single strike from the relic can cause man-made structures the size of a house to collapse. However, with her training focused on punishing heretics, Ekaterina is not able to display such glorious miracles. In her hands, the relic performs practically, often making opening in walls large enough for her to pass through. Still, it functions as a supremely sharp and surprisingly light axe that the girl can wield with surprising ease, despite her lack of true training.
It is also said to get hot when in the presence of heretics and blasphemers, but she suspects that this is not the case as it seems to activate unexpectedly - often when at home.
Equipments:
Name: RPK Light Machine Gun
Rank: E
Description: An older model that remains in active service today thanks to its rugged design. The one Ekaterina typically uses is somewhat of an heirloom, having passed down from her grandfather. While it was designed as for squad level support, it is utterly devastating when fired in close combat; perfect for the shock tactics that the girl typically employs. She typically carries two 75-round drum magazines on assignments, which has historically been enough to get the job done. Considering its weight, she uses a strap to distribute some weight to her body.
Name: Body Armor
Rank: E
Description: A protective ballistic vest which is worn over the chest and torso; typically bearing the Church’s insignia across the chest in a grandiose manner. While still somewhat tough, it does not mean that they are going to be completely protected from the real monsters in the supernatural world. At best covers the internals and important organs while leaving the limbs unprotected for maximum mobility. As the Church takes pride in being very recognisable and intimidating, this armour is only used in duties that are acknowledged as especially dangerous by the organisation – they would much rather their work is known as that of the Church’s to the public courtesy of their iconic garb and weaponry; the more blatantly so the better.
A removable bullet-resistant gorget can be strapped onto her armor, providing an additional level of protection to critical areas. While it does provide a notable increase in personal defense, it usually proves to be an unnecessary hindrance to both movement and vision and is therefore only truly effective against human targets equipped with standard firearms. Not that it stops her from bringing it along most of the time.
Name: Radio
Rank: E
Description: Basic radio assigned to each unit to communicate with the administration and control of the operation. Typically it is designed as a wireless earpiece receiver and microphone combination, but often lower ranking members end up with older generation equipment such as ones that rely on hip-mounted controls and batteries. These radios work off of a variety of radio channels used by the Church, but are able to pick up other channels perfectly fine. Ideally they can pick up transmissions from about 30km around in an urban environment; but in a clear area they can pick up transmissions at a range of around 40km.
To accommodate for her typically loud form of combat, Ekaterina has been provided headphones that also serve to muffle external sounds.
Uniforms:
Name: Nun's Habit
Description: When required, Ekaterina will wear a nun's habit much like a clergy. She has no qualms about ripping of the bottom section when the need arises, which often reveals creative ways of hiding a dismantled firearm.
CAPABILITIES
Skills:
Name: Firearms (Rifles)
Description: The knowledge and skill of using ballistic weaponry in combat. Rank E is considered basic training, while rank D would be an expert – anything higher is more in the bounds of gun-kata styled feats. Being raised in the wilds, handling a rifle was viewed as a necessity and she was taught the basics starting from a young age. Automatic rifles are similar enough that she can use them with a measure of competence.
Rank: E
Name: Divine Sacrament of Internment
Description: The magical system of the Church. Though the organization calls them miracles that are bestowed upon its believers. Sacraments are the categories in which Rites are divided into. This is the skill where a Hunter has access to Rites. The rank of this skill determines how good you are at utilizing said Divine Sacrament and will be a big factor in determining how well advanced you are within your specialized field.
Rank: E
Name: Cooking
Description: The ability to prepare meals with a degree of competency. Having lived with different kinds of people, Ekaterina has found it useful to prepare her own meals for times when she doesn't agree with the menu. Her meals tend to be simple, but they are almost always edible.
Rank: E
Abilities:
Name: Bastion of Hope
Description: An ability granted by the Torch of the Milvian, which emboldens its bearer as long as they continue to preach in the name of faith. While in Ekaterina's hands, the relic seems to recognize combat as an acceptable replacement for words - as both are equivalent in her mind. As long as the girl continues to swing or fire her weapons, she does not feel fatigue or pain and her bravery counts as having two positive modifiers. Nearby allies also gain a positive to their Endurance as long as their Faith is not lower than her own.
Rank: D
Name: Brutality
Description: The nature of her assignments has led Ekaterina to be particularly thorough with her work, particularly when she gets into it. As such, any damaging attack that lands on her target gives a positive modifier to the following, as long as it is directed at the same target.
Rank: E
Name: Bravery
Description: The resolve to function towards an intended goal despite the numerous mental interferences. This can range from fear, pressure, confusion, and so forth.
Rank: E
Name: Faith
Description: The point where one's Faith can be realized through the Church's Sacraments, Rites, and other means of combating the supernatural through the Church's way. While not exactly mirroring a member's actual "faith", it is a quality that gives them power that can be harnessed. This is required for every member of the Church in order to use Sacraments/Rites or even Holy Relics.
Rank: D
Name: Stigmata
Description: The mark of the Christ. People who gain such a mark are known as the Apostles or the "Blessed". Stigmatas allow Apostles to gain access to the powers of a Holy Relic. The Relic they possess will have their rank always matching this ability. The Stigmata not only allows them to use Holy Relics, but also allows them to commune with old forgotten artifacts of Christian nature and whatever form of constructs that requires its presence.
Rank: D
Techniques/Spells:
Name: Lazarus Burial
Incantation: Oh loving father, have mercy on your faithful servant. Let not this sickness end in death, while they may yet glorify your most gracious name. Oh merciful father, have mercy on your weary servant. Let them not stumble into darkness when they may yet shine the light of your grace.
Description: This rite transforms a small amount of rock or soil into sanctified clay. While resulting material can be used for the exorcising effect, it is almost utterly ineffective for such purposes. Of course, enough of it could certainly make for a literal burial for an immobilized target. Instead, it is most useful for its healing properties and can be used to stanch even the most grievous wounds and avoid infection. It doesn't exactly mend such wounds, but it can keep someone alive long enough to get proper medical attention.
